Veterans Day

This week we spent some time learning about Veterans Day. We talked about what a veteran is. Several students realized that have a veteran in their family or that they know someone who is a veteran. We read some poems about veterans and read a Weekly Reader about a female veteran. We honored the veterans at our annual Veterans Day assembly by reciting one of our poems and singing some patriotic songs. As a final activity each student wrote a letter to a veteran.
