Meet Mrs. Kennedy

This is my 32nd year teaching second grade in the Middleton Public Schools. I have degrees in Elementary Education, Special Education, and Reading. I attended Fitchburg State College and the University of Lowell. I live in Beverly with my husband and three children, Sarah, Kevin, and Caroline.  Sarah and Kevin are both college graduates and Caroline is a sophomore at Beverly High School. My hobbies are reading, exercising and going to the beach.
My classroom philosophy is that all children can learn and it is my job to be their coach and guide them by giving them all the tools I can to teach them to become the best independent learners possible. Each child needs to feel safe and respected in their environment in order to be able take risks in their learning environment and strive to reach their potential. I want the children to learn that learning never ends no matter how old you are or what grade you are in. Therefore, they need to be prepared with lots of tools to be life long learners.

  3. Sometimes I can't believe it myself that I have been teaching for so long. For me it's all about making a difference in the lives of children. I am new to blogging and I am really enjoying it. Hopefully, I can keep up with it! Good luck with your first year of teaching. It will go by quickly!
